This season’s go-to accessory is surprisingly the Pearl Necklace. Recently pearls have been seen on the runway models for Chanel, and as accents on sweaters or tanks. They have been morphed and cut into creative designs in various sizes. For example; huge faux pearls strung with gold wiring or even silver is quirky yet elegant. The term “granny pearls” is no more; this season’s spring designs are modern with a hint of classic elegance. The way the pearls are styled has a modern twist too. Tweed fabric is a complimentary textile when it comes to pearls. The mundane neutral shades of tweed have been given a much-needed update. It has now been tweaked with neon colors and cropped clothing lengths. Once again Chanel is in the spotlight, combining the logo with multicolored pearls and dainty ribbons in the shape of bows. Pearl rings and earrings are also trending heavily in the juniors market due to its endless versatility. Yes, the junior market has embraced this trend and now pearls are dangling from cell phones, purses, and hair barrettes. The Pearl has definitely evolved throughout the years. Although faux pearls are the ones referred to in this article, having real pearls is still highly recommended.
