Quirky Bombshell: Tropical Prep

Another Gem that came to mind. I call this trend TROPICAL PREP. I was inspired by the weather going into the new school year. The feeling of just getting back into the swing of school, but at the same time not quite shaking the effect  and  lingering “laziness” of summer. It’s mostly tropical themed prints in book bags, and school supplies. Incorporating denim is fun too. The dresses can stand to be a bit shorter, and the accessories don’t have to be so painterly. The shoes don’t necessarily have to be saddle shoes, but I just thought for the purpose of conceptualization, it was appropriate. It’s a fun trend to experiment with, also there are items that embody this look in many popular juniors wear clothing stores. The images above where inspired by thrift stores, but can easily be transformed to suit a more modern approach. This trend is meant to be casual.

What Do these say?…

Accessorizing with personality is all in the effort. Sure, clothing should have personality, but really the accessories speak volumes about the look. What type of person would rock the ones shown above? Let’s see… Someone who’s creative, out going, and doesn’t mind standing out. See? I’ve deduced that by just judging the purse and shoe combination. These items are from the 2014 spring collection for Christian Louboutin. I found his spring collection very appropriate for the season. It embodied humor, a color palette with pastels, and just an overall fresh look. I don’t think the items above are seasonally transitional which is what people are after these days, but the overall design makes it constantly look “current”. These items don’t have the potential to look dated which is also why I like them. As a shopper, you get the most out of your money when you keep longevity in mind. See ya next post!

Trend Forecasting: Bella Italia

CompModernItalianTheme1

This trend came to me a bit earlier than expected. This is more of a fall theme via Quirky Bombshell. I had an idea of vintage Italy. Yes, the Bella Hollywood sleek 1950’s inspired looks just speak to me. I wanted that neutral toned color palette with the pops of red, yellow and even a little meadow green. For some reason I imagined a beautiful Italian city, with a bustling night life, and the quintessential cement building you normally see in a city. There where palm trees in Rome when I went, and to me the city of Rome had a romantic feel that was undeniable. This trend can be easily achieved. The color black, red leather, blazers with sharp shoulders, dresses with fitted waists, and of course animal print! Accessories are simple too, just keep it simple with elegant black gloves, dangling geometric earrings, and black pumps (heel not too high). Ok, the heels can be a bit more sexier, but not too modern. It pretty cut and dry. As with everything, just be sure to make it you!

Fashion Collection Review: Fendi Resort wear 2015

Fendi1

“Fashion is always pushing forward into the future”. If this statement is true, then why does the most popular collections of the season feature  nostalgic elements of the past? Yes, vintage is in, but when is it not? The Fendi 2015 Resort wear collection embodies everything that is trending in ready to wear fashion! It’s absolutely stunning. The color palette is beautiful; pops of orange and that oh so sexy baby blue is just so versatile. The gorgeous feminized suit in the picture below has delicate texture, smooth color, and an obvious playful element! The fuzzy stuffed toy dangling at the handle of the bag is just fab! The designs also have hints of Asian inspired themes through out. The look above has a creative 70’s silhouettes. Culottes are in, and so are sexy polka-dots. The mesh fabric pulls the look together, and it definitely touches on whats trending in ready to wear collections for summer. Of course I’m referring to the Haute Sports look. Humor was the main focus on a lot of collections this summer. It’s nice to see Fendi “lighten up” for the season…Literally!

I had the pleasure of attending the RAW natural born artist showcase in Atlanta Georgia . There were paintings, nail art, photography, video, performing arts, and even jewelry. Of course you know my favorite part…THE FASHION! The indie artists that were featured had been carefully selected to present their art. It was loud colorful and creative. I made a lot of new connections, and I look forward to the next time they’re in my neck of the woods. I definitely suggest my readers to attend the RAW artist showcase; go to www.RAWartists.org and see what it’s all about.
